    San Francisco: Google has introduced a new feature called “Pet Portraits,” an exciting new feature for its Arts and Culture app, that allows the ability to search through thousands of paintings to find a look-alike for your pet. Pet Portraits is a way for your dog, cat, fish, bird, reptile, horse, or rabbit to discover their very own art doubles among tens of thousands of works from partner institutions around the world. Google’s Parent Alphabet Market Value passes $2tn Mark.

    “Your animal companion could be matched with ancient Egyptian figurines, vibrant Mexican street art, serene Chinese watercolors, and more,” Michelle Luo, Product Manager, Google Arts & Culture, said in a blogpost.

    “Just open the rainbow camera tab in the free Google Arts & Culture app for Android and iOS to get started and find out if your pet’s look-alikes are as fun as some of our favorite animal companions and their matches,” Luo added.

    The company said that when users take a photo in Pet Portraits, the trained computer vision algorithm recognises where their pet is, crops the image and puts them where they belong — front and center. Once that is done, a machine learning algorithm matches the pet’s photo with over tens of thousands of artworks from the company’s partners’ collections to find the ones that look most similar. Additionally, Pet Portraits invite users to tap on their result to learn about the stories and artists behind each artwork.

    Bhadohi (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 10:  In a rare display of loyalty and love for their master, two dogs fought with a snake for almost two hours to prevent it form entering the house of their owner.

    The incident took place late Sunday in Jairampur village and photographs of the incident are now going viral on the social media.  Pet Dog Saves Owner From Cobra Bite But Dies of Snake Poison in Tamil Nadu.

    According to the watchman Guddu, Sheroo and Coco started barking violently as soon as a black venomous snake tried to enter through the main gate.

    The two dogs kept barking but when the snake continued to move ahead, both Sheroo and Coco attacked the reptile.

    “The fight between the dogs and the snake continued for almost two hours and finally the dogs managed to rip the snake into two parts. They were bitten several times by the snake during the fight and both died a few minutes later,” he said.

    Hearing the commotion, a number of local people as well as the dogs’ owners came to the spot and even tried to get the dogs to back off but they kept on attacking the reptile.

    Sheroo and Coco belonged to Dr. Rajan and were dearly loved by the family.

    “We are unable to come to terms with the death of our Sheroo and Coco. They gave up their lives to save us and we will never forget their sacrifice,” the doctor told reporters.

    The family cremated the dogs on Monday.

    On seeing the snake, Parida and his family panicked and called the snake helpline phone number. While they waited, the cat stood guard outside the house and prevented the snake from entering.

    “Our cat prevented the cobra from entering inside for nearly 30 minutes till a team from the Snake Helpline reached the spot. He is around one and a half years old and lives with us like a family member,” Parida told ANI.
