Veteran PDP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Muzaffar Hussain Begh joined the People’s Conference on Wednesday, a party from which he began his political life.
A spokesman for the People’s Conference said that Mr. Baig joined the party after Chairman Sajad Gani Lone and other leaders were called to his residence.
“On this occasion, Lone invited Beigh to return home once again and be part of the party from where he began his political life. He said that Mr. Begh participated in a lot of struggles and after a detailed discussion expressed his pleasure in being a part of the party from where he started his political career. Mr. Begh said that it gave him great pleasure to be a part of the party, which he added as a youth and was prepared by the party’s founder Abdul Ghani Lone.
He said that he had reasons to be happy throughout his public life and many reasons where he felt disappointed.
Mr. Begh expressed his desire to groom the youth and contribute to their capacity building.
He was a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but was sidelined over the years, especially when the party joined hands with the BJP to form the government in the wake of the 2014 assembly elections.
