WhatsApp New Year Celebration Live Streaming Link Shows Incorrect Map of India, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar Tells To Fix Immediately

New Delhi, Dec 31: Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, on Saturday told Meta-owned WhatsApp to immediately fix an incorrect map of India in its New Year celebration live-streaming link.

The minister reiterated that all social media platforms that do business in India must use correct maps. Anand Mahindra’s Heart-Warming Video, With New Year Wish, From Karnataka’s Sri Durga Parameshwari Temple Goes Viral.

“Dear @WhatsApp Rqst that u pls fix the India map error asap. All platforms that do business in India and/or want to continue to do business in India, must use correct maps,” said Chandrasekhar.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar Tells WhatsApp to Fix Incorrect Map of India on Its Live Streaming:

Earlier this week, he cautioned video calling platform Zoom’s founder and CEO Eric Yuan to “make sure” that he used the correct map of the countries the company does business in or wants to do business in.

“You may want to make sure u use correct maps of the countries u do/want to do business in,” he told Yuan. Countdown to New Year 2023 Live Updates: Spectacular Sydney Harbour Fireworks Show to Ring in New Year 2023.

Zoom CEO later deleted the tweet showing an incorrect map of the country.

Chandrasekhar recently spoke about the compliance with law, rules and guardrails for all social media platforms in the country.

“I think who is the head of Twitter is not the most important discussion to have. It’s about the compliance with law, rules and guardrails for all social media platforms that need to be designed and put into place – transparent and true and institutional,” said the Minister on Twitter.

The Minister was reacting to a tweet by Twitter CEO Elon Musk as he started a poll on the microblogging website asking millions of users “should I step down as head of Twitter?”

“Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll,” Musk asked in one of the tweets.

In October this year, the government had notified rules under which it will set up appellate panels to redress grievances that users may have against the decisions of social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook on hosting contentious content.

The obligations of intermediaries earlier were limited to notifying users of rules but now with the new rules there will be much more definite obligations on platforms.

  • Apple To Allow Developers To Distribute Unlisted Apps With a Direct Link on App Store

San Francisco: Apple has introduced the ability to allow developers distribute unlisted apps, that can only be found with a direct link, through the App Store apps. Developers can now publish an app to the App Store that can only be installed via a direct link – the app is unlisted and cannot be found through normal App Store search and discovery means. Apple Reportedly Testing New Feature To Let Users Use Face ID With Mask On.

“Unlisted apps don’t appear in any App Store categories, recommendations, charts, search results, or other listings,” Apple said in a page on its developer website spotted by MacRumors. “They can also be accessed through Apple Business Manager and Apple School Manager.”

“Please note that unlisted apps must be ready for final distribution. Requests for apps in a beta or pre-release state will be declined,” Apple warned.

To make an app unlisted and obtain a link, developers will first need to submit a request to Apple. For developers with apps already on the App Store, once the form is completed and approval gained, the app will switch to unlisted at the same URL. Meanwhile, those that use Business Manager or School Manager will need to create a new app record.

Washington, November 4: The nine-year-old internet feud between two of the mega social media giants has seemed to settle down. Users when they next share Instagram links on Twitter will be able to see a preview of the link that includes an image instead of just the URL text.

As per The Verge, the feature was rolled out on Wednesday to Android, iOS, and the web. Both Instagram and Twitter are promoting the change. Also Read | NZ vs NAM Preview: Likely Playing XIs, Key Battles, Head to Head and Other Things You Need To Know About T20 World Cup 2021 Match 36.

  • Instagram’s ‘Link Stickers’ Now Available to All Users

New Delhi: Facebook-owned Instagram has announced that all users now have access to its Link Sticker feature in Insta Stories. Link stickers are now available to all users regardless of verification status or number of followers. Instagram’s New ‘Sensitive Content Control’ Feature Allows Users To Restrict, Turn Off Sensitive Comments: Report.

“We made this decision based on feedback we heard from the community about how impactful it would be for creators and businesses of all sizes to benefit from link sharing to grow in the same way larger accounts do,” Instagram said in a statement.

You can access the feature by selecting the sticker tool from the top navigation bar when you capture or upload content to your Story. After selecting the “Link Sticker”, you can add your chosen link and then tap “Done”. From there, you can place the sticker anywhere on your Story and tap on it to see the other colour variations.

New accounts and accounts that repeatedly share things like hate speech and misinformation, or other content that violates Instagram’s Community Guidelines will not have access to the Link sticker.

Instagram earlier said that the decision to expand Link Sticker access to everyone had to be made carefully, as it could impact the app’s integrity and safety. Meanwhile, Instagram is also testing new tools to make it easier for creators to earn money through its service.

The app is now testing affiliate shops, a feature it first previewed at its Creator Week event in June, and a dedicated “partnerships” inbox. Affiliate shops are an extension of Facebook’s existing shopping features, which are already widely available. But the latest version of the storefronts allows creators to link to products that are already part of their affiliate arrangements.
