Nokia Signs Deal With Bharti Airtel To Deploy Next-Gen ‘Optical Transport Network’ To Provide Superior Services for Customers

New Delhi, November 21: Nokia on Tuesday announced it has entered into an agreement with Bharti Airtel to deploy a next-generation optical transport network (OTN) that will provide additional capacity, higher reliability and lower cost, enabling superior services for Airtel’s customers. Under the agreement, Airtel will utilise Nokia’s ‘1830 PSS-x OTN’ switches in its National Long-Distance Network connecting major cities across India.

“As a world leader in OTN, our technology will help Airtel to increase the capacity and features of Bharti’s optical transport network to meet growing bandwidth demand driven by the enterprise and hyperscaler segments. It will also provide the service level performance to meet the strict SLAs from Airtel customers,” Chandan Kumar, Head of Optical Network Business Centre for Nokia India, said in a statement. Microsoft Announces New Features in Outlook Lite Such As Voice Typing, Transliteration and Others Along With SMS Support for Indian Users.

The increased capacity will enable Airtel to potentially deliver faster and more reliable broadband services and be ready for new use cases, Nokia said. According to the company, its OTN solution enables Bharti Airtel to seamlessly upgrade its legacy transport switching infrastructure across its pan-Indian network footprint to meet new transport network traffic demands while improving both the performance and reliability of its network.

Nokia noted that the launch of 5G networks and the push for broadband connectivity across India is increasing demands for Communications Service Providers (CSPs), including augmentation of backhaul transport for denser 5G mobile networks, wholesale connectivity for new segments like smart grids, data centre interconnect (DCI) and other business services. Employment News: Titan Company Plans to Hire Over 3,000 Employees in Next 5 Years.

To address this exponential growth in traffic demand, transport networks need to be upgraded to increase overall transport capacity and bandwidth efficiency using high-capacity OTN switching and utilising additional spectrum, including the L-band wavelengths of the fibre, it added.

  • Sam Altman Will Not Return As CEO of ChatGPT Developer OpenAI As Deal Falls Apart, Emmett Shear Likely To Be Appointed as Interim CEO: Report

Sam Altman Will Not Return As CEO of ChatGPT Developer OpenAI As Deal Falls Apart, Emmett Shear Likely To Be Appointed as Interim CEO: Report

San Francisco, November 20: The deal to bring Sam Altman back as OpenAI CEO has reportedly fallen apart and former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear is likely to be appointed as interim CEO at ChatGPT developer. According to The Information, Altman won’t return as CEO of OpenAI, despite efforts by the company’s executives to bring him back. OpenAI co-founder and board director Ilya Sutskever said that Shear, co-founder of Amazon-owned video streaming site Twitch, will take over as interim CEO.

The decision “could deepen a crisis precipitated by the board’s sudden ouster of Altman and its removal of President Greg Brockman from the board”, the report mentioned late on Sunday. Distraught employees came out of OpenAI headquarters in San Francisco shortly after the decision was announced internally. Kelly Bayer Rosmarin, CEO of Optus, Australia’s Second-Largest Telecommunications Operator Resigns After Network Outage Debacle.

The hiring of Shear appears to close the door on Altman’s exit after he was fired on Friday when the board said he had not been “consistently candid in his communications.” The board was in intense discussions about Altman’s return over the weekend.

Altman returned to OpenAI’s office, saying it would be the “first and last time” he wore a guest badge – implying he would either return as CEO or never return at all. The suspense over Altman’s return as the CEO of OpenAI continued on Monday as OpenAI leaders and investors sought to reinstate Altman at the company which unceremoniously sacked him on November 17. Kyle Vogt, Co-Founder and CEO of GM Subsidiary Cruise Resigns After California Department of Motor Vehicles Suspends Cruise’s Deployment and Driverless Testing Permits.

The final negotiations went on between Altman and the company, with one big condition that the existing board (who fired him) had to step down. Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella was reportedly mediating the discussion between Altman, former OpenAI President Greg Brockman, and the current board members as they attempt to select a new board. “If a deal isn’t reached, things will take a different path,” according to reports.

  • Twitter Drags Elon Musk’s Billionaire Buddies Into Legal Battle Over Terminated USD 44 Billion Takeover Deal

San Francisco, August 3: Twitter has now dragged tech investors and entrepreneur friends connected to Elon Musk in the $44 billion takeover deal that has been terminated by the Tesla CEO and a legal trial is set to begin from October 17.

According to The Washington Post, Twitter’s legal team in a subpoena in the court has asked for “extensive requests for communications, including achecklists, timelines, presentations, decks, organisational calls, meetings, notes, recordings” related to the deal’s financing. Twitter vs Elon Musk: Legal Battle Over Cancellation of $44 Billion Takeover Deal To Start From October 17.

The top investors mentioned in the subpoena are Marc Andreessen, founder of VC firm Andreessen Horowitz (A16Z), former Facebook executive and CEO of Social Capital, Chamath Palihapitiya and David Sacks who helped Musk with the formation of financial services firm PayPal.

Twitter’s legal team has also gone after Tesla and SpaceX board member Stephen Jurvetson, and investors Jason Calacanis, Keith Rabois and Joe Lonsdale. Lonsdale, general partner at VC firm 8VC, called Twitter’s subpoenas sent to a “giant harassing fishing expedition”.

“Lawyers w/ TWTR are sending subpoenas to friends in the ecosystem around @elonmusk and @pmarca and @DavidSacks et al, a giant harassing fishing expedition,” he posted.

“I have nothing to do with this aside from a few snarky comments, but got a ‘YOU ARE HEREBY COMMANDED’ document notice,” he added. Musk or his legal team were yet to react to the Twitter subpoena.

The world’s richest person has filed a countersuit against Twitter as part of an ongoing legal dispute with the microblogging platform. However, the lawsuit is not yet accessible to the public and a partially redacted version may be available soon under court rules. • Twitter vs Elon Musk: Legal Battle Over Cancellation of $44 Billion Takeover Deal To Start From October 17

San Francisco, July 29: The US judge in the Twitter vs Elon Musk legal battle over cancellation of the $44 billion takeover deal has set October 17 as the beginning date of the high-profile trial.

Judge Kathaleen McCormick in the Delaware Court of Chancery has issued an official schedule, with the high-profile trial starting from October 17 till October 21. Twitter Reaches 238 Million Users Globally Amid Legal Battle With Elon Musk

Twitter wanted the trial to begin on October 10, but Musk said he wants it to start a week later, stressing that the extra week of preperation time would be crucial.

“The parties shall work together in good faith on the scheduling and location of depositions. The parties will not require a subpoena to produce for deposition, on reasonable notice, persons under their respective control, including their respective current directors, officers, employees, and experts and documents under the parties’ control in the possession of such persons,” the judge said in the case scheduling order.

Earlier this week, Musk’s lawyers filed a letter to the Delaware Chancery Court, saying that Twitter was not playing nice in the pre-trial process and should be forced to do so.

Musk’s lawyers claimed that Twitter was not producing the documents it needs even though they’re easy to produce.

The Parag Agrawal-led microblogging platform had pushed for proceedings to commence as early as possible, arguing that the ongoing shenanigans are hurting the company and that things should be resolved as quickly as possible.

Musk’s team asked for a much longer timeline, hoping to start the trial early next year.

However, McCormick picked October and told the two sides to begin preparation.

If Elon Musk’s legal team can prove that Twitter has misled its users from revealing the actual number of bots or spam accounts on its platform, than the company can be held liable for fraudulent disclosure in its filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The Tesla CEO terminated the $44 deal because he did not believe what Agrawal told him about the actual number of bots on the platform.

The micro-blogging platform recently revealed that it is suspending more than 1 million spam accounts a day.
