MS Dhoni was spotted on the field before the Indian Premier League 2021 as he trained with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the team he has led since the start of the IPL. CSK posted a picture on social media in which Dhoni is seen walking on the field with his kit bag shoulder to shoulder. Dhoni is set to lead CSK in IPL 2021 after making a strong announcement ahead of CSK’s last match in IPL 20, as it was certainly not his final appearance in yellow. IPL 2021 will begin on April 9 with defending champions Mumbai Indians at Royal Challengers Bangalore in Chennai.

CSK will play its first game in Delhi on 10 April with a scheduling change in the league, in which no team will play at their home ground.

Dhoni had an IPL 2020 sub-match as he scored 200 runs in 14 matches at a modest strike rate of 116.27.
Last season too, CSK missed the playoff race for the first time in the season played in the IPL.

The team imposed a two-year ban for corruption charges and missed the league in 2016 and 2017.

However, Dhoni led the title in the comeback year of 2018 as CSK became only the second team in the league to win more than two titles.

    Promoted

Mumbai Indians have the most titles in the IPL and won a record fifth trophy last season.

CSK had earlier given a grand welcome to Dhoni when he landed in Chennai to join the team.

  • IPL 2021: Sam Curran misses home test if Chennai Super Kings reach IPL final

IPL 2021: Sam Curran misses home test if Chennai Super Kings reach IPL final

England all-rounder Sam Curran on Monday made clear indications that he could skip the home Test series against New Zealand from June 2, provided the Chennai Super Kings played the IPL final on May 30. Matching with the ongoing debate over the players who opted for the IPL Test in England, Curran’s statement was a reality for the English cricket establishment. “Clearly you have to see how the IPL tournament turns out, if you have missed the qualifications that I think you are most likely to be available for those tests,” Curren told British media.

“But if you’re in the finals, it might be a little different. It’s still quite far away. Nobody really knows how it’s out of the pan, so yes fingers are crossed. How the IPL will go, “Curren said. A sign where he has preferences.

The 22-year-old Chennai Super Kings all-rounder is back in India for the white ball of the England tour and he will later join Dhoni’s squad for the IPL.

“It’s great to play in that tournament as a player, especially with the T20 World Cup in India, it’s going to make great preparations, great for us to develop under these conditions, “Curren said.

The three-time IPL champion had his worst season in 2020 as he finished seventh and missed the playoffs for the first time.

But Curran ended the season with a total of 13 wickets from 14 matches. He also impressed with the bat, scoring 186 runs including a score of over fifty.

“That’s what I pride myself on … I think I can adjust to different situations, so wherever I bat or bowle and do things like that, I go out there and do my work in different areas of the game I’ll try to show skill. ” It will be a great opportunity for me to further strengthen my place in the XI for the T20 World Cup.

He further explained how the IPL has sharpened his skills and developed him into a player.

“Probably, in the last few months, I definitely felt that I came out of the IPL last year by becoming a better player in Dubai. I was given many roles and challenged in many different ways, which I really enjoyed. “

“It benefited my game. It’s a great tournament – the players love to play and it is very crowded. India has a great place to play cricket and it is the best T20 competition.”

Curran is confident that he can establish his IPL learning in England.

“The IPL is a very competitive tournament so there are definitely things that I have learned in the IPL that I am hoping that I will come to the England setup, but then I learned the things of the England set-up that I have in the IPL Can bring. So yes, they both complement each other, “he said.

The all-rounder is now braking for three months in India, beginning on Friday with the T20I series against India in Ahmedabad.

“This is the year of the World Cup, so there is a lot of emphasis on us to do really well, especially in India. Now the World Cup is going to be here in October time, so for us as players Really exciting. “

Asked if England would be overwhelmed by their heavy defeat in the Test series, he said: “There are a lot of players who have not played in that Test series, so it is clear that it can be beneficial in a way.”

He said, “Most players move very quickly and focus on what’s ahead and what they try and improve, so come on Friday, the team that will go there to play against a really good Indian outfit Will be ready and excited. “
