Aadhaar Card Address Update Online: UIDAI Enables Online Address Updating With Consent of ‘Head of Family’

New Delhi, January 3: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has put in place a facility to update address in Aadhaar online with the consent of the Head of Family (HoF).

Officials said that the HoF based online address update in Aadhaar will be of great help to the relative(s) of a resident-like children, spouse, parents, etc., who don’t have supporting documents in their own name to update address in their Aadhaar.

UIDAI Enables Online Address Updating With Consent of ‘Head of Family’:

    :

It can be done by submitting Proof of Relationship documents like ration card, marksheet, marriage certificate, passport, etc., mentioning the name of both the applicant and HOF and the relationship between them and OTP based authentication by the HOF. In case even Proof of Relationship document is not available, UIDAI provides the resident to submit a self-declaration by the HOF in the UIDAI prescribed format. Aadhaar Address Update: UIDAI Introduces ‘Head of Family’ Feature, Residents Can Change Address Online With Consent of HoF.

“With people moving cities and towns due to various reasons within the country, such a facility will be beneficial for millions of people. This choice would be in addition to the existing address update facility using any valid Proof of Address document prescribed by UIDAI. Any resident above the age of 18 can be an HOF for this purpose and can share his/her address with his/her relatives through this process,” said the Ministry of Electronics and IT on Tuesday.

In the ‘My Aadhaar’ portal, a resident can choose this option while seeking to update their address online. Following which, the resident will be allowed to enter the Aadhaar number of the HOF, which will only be validated. No other information of the HOF’s Aadhaar will be displayed on the screen to maintain adequate privacy of HOF. Post successful validation of Aadhaar number of HOF, the resident will be required to upload the Proof of Relationship document.

As per the UIDAI, residents have to pay the fee Rs 50/- for the service. On successful payment, a service request number (SRN) would be shared with the resident, and an SMS would be sent to the HOF about the address request. The HOF to approve the request and give his/her consent by logging into the My Aadhaar portal within 30 days from the date of receiving the notification and the request will be processed. How To Update Aadhaar Card? If the HOF refuses to share her/his address, or does not accept or decline within the stipulated 30 days of SRN creation, the request would be closed. The resident, seeking address update through this option, will be informed about the closure of the request via an SMS. In case the request is closed or rejected due to non acceptance of the HOF or rejected during the process, the amount shall not be refunded to the applicant, said the UIDAI.

Razorpay Allows Merchants To Accept Credit Card Transactions via UPI

Bengaluru, Dec 5: Fintech platform Razorpay on Monday announced an industry-first move to enable merchants to accept credit card transactions on unified payments interface (UPI), as the digital payments landscape witnesses a stupendous growth.

With RuPay credit cards being enabled on UPI, Razorpay merchants can begin accepting credit card payments on UPI, with minimal changes to their existing setup. RuPay Credit Card: No Charge for Use on UPI for Transaction Up to Rs 2,000, Says NPCI.

The company said that move is made possible in partnership with Axis bank, which shares Razorpay’s focus on catering to the ever-evolving needs of merchants and delivering greater convenience.

This offering is in line with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) latest innovation in the digital space, said the company. On October 4, the NPCI allowed the linking of RuPay credit cards with the BHIM UPI app.

“For this enablement to bring in the impact, the readiness of any payment gateway infrastructure is essential. Under this context, Razorpay has taken the first step towards democratising credit card transactions on UPI for our merchants,” said Shashank Kumar, MD and Co-founder, Razorpay.

The customers of HDFC Bank, Punjab National Bank, Union Bank and Indian Bank will be the first to enjoy the benefits of this innovation, said the company.

“This will enable users to transact seamlessly with merchants across India on credit rails in line with the government’s vision to expand the structured credit infrastructure in India,” said Nalin Bansal, Chief of Corporate and Fintech Relationships and Key Initiatives, NPCI.

According to the RBI data, the credit card industry in the country has grown steadily at the rate of 30 per cent over the last three years.

“We believe this move has the potential to change the way customers make payments in the next 2-3 years,” said Sanjeev Moghe, President & Head – Cards & Payments, Axis Bank.

TikTok Invisible Body Challenge: Hackers Spread Malware to Steal Passwords, Credit Card Details of Users

San Francisco, November 30 : Hackers have exploited TikTok’s “Invisible Body Challenge” in order to spread malware that can steal passwords and credit card details, the media reported. According to Forbes, a trending challenge on TikTok involves users filming themselves naked while using an effect called “Invisible Body” which removes the body from the video and replaces it with a blurry background. TikTok Down: Chinese Video-Sharing App Back After Brief Global Outage.

Hackers were taking advantage of this trend by posting videos offering to remove the filter, tricking people into thinking they will see naked bodies instead. However, all they received in return was a piece of malware capable of stealing Discord accounts, as first discovered by security firm Checkmarx. TikTok Continues Hiring As Competitors Laying-Off Employees, Says ‘Will Add Around 3,000 Engineers Across the World’.

The victims were encouraged to download a piece of software that will supposedly remove the filter. However, the software was fake and they only received a piece of malware called “WASP Stealer (Discord Token Grabber)”, which gathers information from discord accounts, credit cards, passwords and cryptocurrency wallets, according to security firm CyberSmart.

“The short and shareable format of TikTok’s videos means content can quickly go viral, attracting thousands, if not millions, of eyeballs in a short span of time,” Jamie Akhtar, CEO and co-founder of CyberSmart, was quoted as saying. “It is no wonder then that cybercriminals will be keen to jump on these trends as a vehicle for their scams,” he added. Currently, TikTok officially has over 1 billion monthly active users. A TikTok user spends an average of 95 minutes per day (over 1.5 hours) on the platform.
