According to Twitter, this feature prioritises subscribers’ replies on tweets that they interact with. Twitter CEO Elon Musk had promised this feature in November and said that the subscribers would get, “Priority in replies, mentions & search, which is essential to defeat spam/scam.” Twitter Blue Allows Video Uploads Up to 2 GB in Size, 60 Minutes in Length.

Elon Musk Stunned at His Own Twitter Poll Results, Blames Bots and Wants Only Blue Subscribers To Participate in Polls

New Delhi, December 20 : Stunned at his own Twitter poll result which decided he should quit as the CEO, Elon Musk took a U-turn on Tuesday, saying that going forward, only Blue subscribers will be able to participate in polls organised by him. His Twitter poll on Monday revealed that a whopping 57.5 per cent people wanted him to quit as the CEO of the micro-blogging platform.

“Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll,” the Tesla CEO had said. When a follower posted that Blue subscribers should be the only ones that can vote in policy-related polls, Musk replied: “Good point. Twitter will make that change.” Elon Musk to Step Down as Twitter CEO? Twitter Poll Reveals 57% People Want Him Out.

A user posted to him: “So basically you’re going to restrict voting to people willing to give you their money? That will definitely lead to less biased poll results. Another replied: “I WILL ABIDE BY THE RESULTS OF THIS POLL. Resign.”

Musk, however, did not tender his resignation as Twitter CEO despite the results. The Twitter CEO had said that going forward, “there will be a vote for major policy changes. My apologies. Won’t happen again”. “No one wants a job who can actually keep Twitter alive. There is no successor,” he said on Monday. Elon Musk Introduces Twitter Blue for Business, Brands to Get Square Company Badge Next to Name; Know Other Features Here.

Last month, Musk had said that he does not want to be the CEO of any company, be it Tesla or Twitter. He made the comment during testimony at a trial in the US, challenging his controversial pay compensation package at Tesla, and said that he does not wish to remain CEO of Twitter forever which he acquired in October.

  • Twitter Now Plans To Grant Elon Musk Access to Data on Bots

San Francisco, June 9: Microblogging platform Twitter’s board now plans to grant Elon Musk access to the massive stream of “firehose” data comprising more than 500 million tweets posted each day, the Washington Post reported citing a person familiar with the company’s thinking. Soon after making a $44 billion deal to acquire Twitter in April, Musk has been asking for information about spam and fake accounts.

On Monday he threatened to walk away from the deal if the company fails to provide the data. To end the standoff with the billionaire, Twitter board has plans to comply with access to data that he says is necessary to evaluate the number of fake users on the platform. Elon Musk Buys Twitter: ‘Elon Is the Singular Solution I Trust’, Says Former CEO Jack Dorsey.

The information could be provided as soon as this week, the person said, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, the report said. The data comprises not only a real-time record of tweets but the devices they tweet from, as well as information about the accounts that tweet.

It has been available for years to companies that pay Twitter for the ability to analyse it to find patterns and insights in the daily conversation. Currently some two dozen companies pay for access for it.

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO earlier said he does not believe in Twitter findings which say that false or spam accounts represent fewer than 5 per cent of its monetisable daily active users (229 million).

In a letter sent to Twitter on Monday, addressed to Twitter’s general counsel Vijaya Gadde, Musk’s legal team argued that the data stream is essential for understanding the amount of spam and bot activity on its platform, a figure that could influence the company’s ad revenue.

Musk “must have a complete and accurate understanding of the very core of Twitter’s business model — its active user base”, stated the lawyers from the firm Skadden Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. “Twitter’s latest offer to simply provide additional details regarding the company’s own testing methodologies, whether through written materials or verbal explanations, is tantamount to refusing Musk’s data requests.”

Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment, the report said. “Twitter has and will continue to cooperatively share information with Musk to consummate the transaction in accordance with the terms of the merger agreement,” Twitter spokesman Scott Bisang said in a statement.

“We believe this agreement is in the best interest of all shareholders. We intend to close the transaction and enforce the merger agreement at the agreed price and terms.”

  • Elon Musk Hints Paying Less for Twitter As He Fights With CEO Parag Agrawal Over Bots

San Francisco, May 17: Tesla CEO Elon Musk has hinted to pay less for Twitter takeover, as he sparred with CEO Parag Agrawal over the actual number of bots or spammy accounts on the platform.

At a conference in Miami, Musk said that Twitter could have at least four times more fake accounts than what has been revealed in its filing “You can’t pay the same price for something that is much worse than they claimed,” he said during the event late on Monday.

“Currently what I’m being told is that there’s just no way to know the number of bots. It’s like, as unknowable as the human soul,” he added. Musk, who has put the $44 billion takeover deal on hold, believes bots make at least 20 per cent of Twitter users, and a lower price may not be “out of the question”.

Twitter shares were down 8 per cent to close at $37.39 on Monday. Musk attacked Agrawal after the Twitter CEO on Monday went into finer details on how the micro-blogging platform is fighting spam and fake accounts. Elon Musk vs Parag Agarwal: Tesla CEO, Twitter CEO Spar on Twitter Over Fake User Accounts.

The Tesla CEO even showed an emoji depicting a “pile of poo” to Agrawal on his Twitter thread. “Our actual internal estimates for the last four quarters were all well under 5 per cent — based on the methodology outlined above. The error margins on our estimates give us confidence in our public statements each quarter,” said Agrawal.

“Unfortunately, we don’t believe that this specific estimation can be performed externally, given the critical need to use both public and private information (which we can’t share). Externally, it’s not even possible to know which accounts are counted as mDAUs on any given day,” said Agrawal.

Musk then replied on his Twitter thread: “So how do advertisers know what they’re getting for their money? This is fundamental to the financial health of Twitter.”

At the summit, Musk said: “They claim that they’ve got this complex methodology that only they can understand… It can’t be some deep mystery that is, like, more complex than the human soul or something like that.”
