Tamil Nadu Assembly Election | BJP released booklet on ‘100 reasons to reject DMK’

DMK’s former general secretary VP Durisamy, who joined BJP last year, was the head of the event.

The BJP on Sunday released a booklet which believed there were 100 reasons for rejecting the DMK in the April 6 assembly elections. These include the abolition of Section 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, opposition to agricultural laws, the new education policy and the DMK’s stand on a range of issues, including the Sri Lankan Tamils’ issues.

DMK’s former general secretary VP Durisamy, who joined the BJP last year, was presiding over the event and the booklet was released by BJP’s national general secretary, Tamil Nadu general secretary in charge CT Ravi.

Accusing the DMK of “anti-national activities”, the BJP said that in 2018, DMK president MK Stalin said that he would support the creation of ‘Dravida Nadu’ if other southern states were ready for it. It claimed that they had allowed separatist ideas to float. It accused the DMK and its partners of opposing the repeal of Article 370 Ad 35A. A video released by the DMK youth wing leader Udhayanidhi Stalin Pakistan Occupied Kashmir stated that he was not present in the Indian map.

The BJP also raised various issues of the UPA years such as the INX Media case and the coal scam. It was alleged that the DMK Sterlite Copper Unit was brought in, but now supported the closure of the factory; It is against any development projects in the country; And while every political party wants roads to be built, DMK is the only state that does not want roads in the state, citing opposition to the Chennai-Salem Express [BJP ally PMK had also opposed the road project.]

The BJP listed the comments of various DMK leaders about the Dalits and accused the party of not making any efforts to intervene during the Eelam War-IV.
