  • WhatsApp Bans Over 16.6 Lakh Bad Accounts in India in April

    New Delhi, June 1: Meta-owned WhatsApp on Wednesday said that it banned over 16.6 lakh bad accounts in India in the month of April in compliance with the new IT Rules 2021.

    The platform had banned over 18 lakh such accounts in the country in March.

    The company also received 844 grievance reports in April within the country, and the accounts “actioned” were 123. WhatsApp Reportedly Working on ‘Edit Text Messages’ Feature

    In March, WhatsApp received 597 grievance reports and the accounts “actioned” were 74.

    “This user-safety report contains details of the user complaints received and the corresponding action taken by WhatsApp, as well as WhatsApp’s own preventive actions to combat abuse on our platform. As captured in the latest Monthly Report, WhatsApp banned over 1.6 million (1,666,000) accounts in the month of April,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said in a statement.

    The company said that data shared highlights the number of Indian accounts banned by WhatsApp between April 1-30 using the abuse detection approach, which also includes action taken in furtherance to negative feedback received from users via its “Report” feature.

    “Over the years, we have consistently invested in Artificial Intelligence and other state of the art technology, data scientists and experts, and in processes, in order to keep our users safe on our platform,” the company added.

    Under the new IT Rules 2021, big digital and social media platforms, with more than 5 million users, have to publish monthly compliance reports.

    In terms of specs, the Tecno Phantom X is expected to come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED curved display with a 90Hz refresh rate. There will be an octa-core MediaTek Helio G95 SoC with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage along with 5GB of virtual RAM.

    For photos and videos, the device will come equipped with a 108MP camera unit. Upfront, there will be a 48MP and an 8MP sensor. Moreover, the smartphone will also get a hidden fingerprint sensor. It runs on HiOS based on Android 11. The phone is backed by a 4,700mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

    As far as pricing is concerned, the Tecno Phantom X is likely to be priced around Rs. 25,000 in India. It is said to be available in Starry Night Blue and Summer Sunset colour options.

    Infinix India will launch the Smart 6 smartphone in the country on April 27, 2022. The forthcoming Infinix Smart 6 will get the industry’s first antibacterial material back design with silver ion coating.

    As far as pricing details are concerned, the upcoming Infinix Smart 6 will be a sub-Rs 10,000 offering. The phone is globally priced at $120 which is around Rs 9000. We can expect it to be priced at a similar price point in India.

Redmi Note 11E starts at CNY 1,199 (approximately Rs 14,400) for the 4GB + 128GB model, whereas the 6GB + 128GB retails at CNY 1,299 (approximately Rs 15,600).   • Realme GT Neo 3 India Launch Date Set For April 29, To Go on Sale From May 4, 2022

    The Chinese smartphone brand Realme is set to launch the Realme GT Neo 3 in India on April 29, 2022. The company made this announcement through its official Twitter handle. As per details confirmed by the brand, the gaming-oriented handset will go on sale in India from May 4, 2022.     According to the Realme India microsite, the prices of the Realme GT Neo 3 will be announced during the launch event that is scheduled for 12:30 pm IST on April 29. The company is yet to reveal more details about the launch. If the recent reports are to be believed, Realme will offer the phone in three shades – Asphalt Black, Nitro Blue, and Sprint White. It is likely to come in three configurations — 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB.

    The Realme GT Neo 3 could be priced at a similar range as the Chinese variant, which starts from CNY 1999 (around Rs 24,000). Do note, that the phone in two models based on their battery capacities and charging speeds. And we expect both the models to arrive in the Indian market.

    The Chinese variant comes with a 6.7-inch 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It offers a 1,000Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ and DC dimming support. There’s a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 5G chipset under the skin which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of onboard storage. It runs on Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 on top.

    For photography, the handset packs a triple rear camera module housing a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor with OIS and EIS. There’s also an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view and a macro shooter. Realme offers the phone in two battery options – 4,500mAh with 150W UltraDart Charging support and a 5,000mAh with 80W fast charging support.
