    NEET 2021 to take place on 1 August: National Testing Agency

    NEET (UG), or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Bachelor), used for admission to MBBS and BDS courses

    An offline pen-and-paper mode will be conducted on a single day, the National Medical Testing Agency announced on Friday.

    NEET (UG), or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Bachelor), is used for admission to MBBS and BDS courses as well as programs for elective or traditional medicine and nursing.

    It is usually held in May after the class 12 board examinations to facilitate admission by August. However, due to disruptions caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, board exams have been delayed this year and will only be completed in June, as well as medical entrance exams.

    In 2020, NEET was held in September, and repeated in October which missed the exam due to COVID. Some students had urged that multiple attempts should be allowed in 2021, similar to the Engineering Entrance Examination JEE. However, the NEET exam will return in 2021 on the same date.

    Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has indicated that although there will be no reduction in NEET syllabus, there may be a greater level of internal choice for the fact that many school examination boards have reduced their syllabi due to the impact of the epidemic is.
