Adobe Layoffs: Software Major Lays Off About 100 Employees From Sales Team Amid Rough Global Macroeconomic Conditions

San Francisco, Dec 7: Software major Adobe has laid off some 100 employees from its sales team amid the rough global macroeconomic conditions.

In a statement, Adobe said that the company “shifted some employees to positions that support critical initiatives” and removed “a small number” of other jobs. Morgan Stanley Layoffs: Global Investment Advisory Firm Lays Off About 1,600 Employees Amid Global Economic Meltdown

“Adobe is not doing company-wide layoffs and we are still hiring for critical roles,” the software major said in a statement. Alphabet Layoffs: Google’s Parent ‘Prepares’ To Fire 10,000 Employees

Although the size of workforce reduction at Adobe is not the same in comparison to Big Tech, the move is seen as an indication of the global meltdown now affecting the companies at a deeper level.

Bloomberg was first to report about Adobe layoffs.

Adobe had a record quarter in Q3, achieving $4.43 billion in revenue, which represents 15 per cent year-over-year growth.

“In this digital-first world, Adobe Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Experience Cloud have become even more mission-critical to an increasingly wide range of customers,” Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen had said.

Adobe shares went up after the software maker issued guidance for the next fiscal year that fell short of expectations, but blamed some of the shortfall on a stronger dollar and unfavourable foreign exchange rates.

The software major will, in fact, increase headcount by a lower percentage than it has in the past few years, Narayen told analysts at the ‘Adobe Max 2022’ conference in the US in October.

“Adobe’s continued success in this uncertain macroeconomic environment underscores that our solutions are mission-critical to a growing universe of customers,” according to the CEO.

  • Adobe, Microsoft Join Hands To Turbocharge Modern Workplaces

New Delhi, May 25: With an aim to improve how work gets done at modern workplaces, software major Adobe on Wednesday announced that it has partnered with tech giant Microsoft. Through new advances in business processes and intelligent automation, Adobe said it continues to give its joint customers the most modern work experience, centred on technology that enhances teamwork, collaboration, and efficiencies.

“Through the deeper integrations between Adobe and Microsoft that we have announced today, we continue to innovate to elevate today’s agile and rapidly evolving workforce,” Ashley Still, SVP/GM of Digital Media, Adobe, said in a statement. Adobe Announces New Innovations To Power Metaverse for Millions of Users.

Adobe said that it continues to build on the Microsoft Teams platform to make the experience of editing, commenting, converting, signing, and collaborating on PDFs richer, more efficient, and more personal without moving between different apps, user interfaces, or separate log-ins.

In Acrobat for Teams, it recently added the convenience of Single Sign-On (SSO) and introduced the personal tab — a home page for curating all your recent documents, tools, and collaboration into one view.

These new features are also available in Acrobat Sign for Teams, in addition to enabling signing from a Teams notification. You can now sign off on a document instantly, without breaking stride to open a browser or app.

Frame.io, now an Adobe company, will preview a Live Share integration with Frame.io at Build. This integration will show how the combination of Frame.io and Microsoft Teams could be used to enable synchronized, interactive reviews of work in progress. Users will soon be able to apply Purview Information Protection labels and policies to their most important documents within the desktop version of Acrobat.

The company said that business leaders must add Purview Information Protection to standard business contracts traditionally shared as PDFs like purchase orders, partnership agreements, and service contracts, ensuring that only critical stakeholders can view, manage, and approve those documents.

“We are making it easier for customers to streamline repetitive tasks as well as connect data and apps by bringing Power Automate directly into the Acrobat Sign experience,” the company said.

“This means that organisations will be able to quickly automate the workflow and audit of e-signatures across hundreds of business processes like field service requests, sales contracts, new hire forms, and IT requests,” it added.

In addition to removing backgrounds, the company said that ‘Select Subject’ technology can now identify photos of people, and select and refine the small details like wisps of hair and edges of clothes.

Auto Tone, Auto Contrast, and Auto Colour tools will give users one-tap solutions to correct tonal issues or colour imbalances. The company said it has also allowed access to more than 20,000 Adobe fonts from directly within the type tool, load your own custom fonts, rename your cloud document while editing and more.

  • Adobe Removing Photoshop Mix, Fix From App Store; Asks Users to Switch to Photoshop Express Photo Editor

Adobe Removing Photoshop Mix, Fix From App Store; Asks Users to Switch to Photoshop Express Photo Editor

San Francisco, June 13: After years of neglect, software major Adobe is removing its free “Photoshop Mix” and “Photoshop Fix” apps from the App Store on June 21.

The company has advised users who used the apps to switch to using its “Photoshop Express Photo Editor”, which requires either a monthly or yearly subscription for deeper photo editing.  New Google Chrome Update Released Without Support for Adobe Flash Player

Photoshop Mix was released on the App Store prior to when a fully-fledged version of Photoshop arrived on the iPad.

Adobe attempted to offer iPad users at the time some level of photo editing capabilities on the go.

The app allows users to add text layers and “easily create and share professional multilayered images and designs in minutes”.

Photoshop Fix, on the other hand, is more tailored towards light touch-ups and refinements.

Photoshop Mix was last updated three years ago, while Photoshop Fix was updated two years with support for the iPhone X and newer screen ratio.

Both apps will remain available for download on the App Store until June 21.

Recently, the company released the first version of Photoshop to run natively on Macs with the new Apple silicon M1 chip.

The internal tests by Adobe showed that Photoshop delivers significant performance gains across the application for customers using the latest Macs.

According to the company, Photoshop for M1 Macs completes most tasks 1.5 times faster than on Intel chips.

Photoshop will now be available on the MacBook Air, entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro and Mac mini.
