President of the American Progressive Telugu Association (APTA) JJV Subrahmanyam said that the organization is going to distribute educational scholarships from ₹ 2.60 crore to 1,300 beneficiaries in Telugu states.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Mr. Subrahmanyam said that APTA had been providing scholarships to poor and meritorious students in Telugu states since its inception in 2008.
He said that by joining the organization of more Telugu diaspora Indians, they were able to help more beneficiaries and this year 1,300 poor and meritorious students were selected for various courses.
He said the scholarship delivery program had become decentralized due to the COVID epidemic and would be held at 60 locations in AP and Telangana. In Vijayawada, the program will be held on Sunday.
Mr. Subrahmanyam said that the beneficiaries of the APTA student educational program are recommended by the members who can verify eligibility.
