Suspension of 5 Congress MLAs from Himachal Assembly canceled

A motion by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj to repeal his suspension was unanimously passed in the House.

The suspension of five Congress MLAs of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly was unanimously revoked on Friday, Speaker Vipin Parmar said.

Leader of the Opposition Mukesh Agnihotri and MLAs Harshvardhan Chauhan, Satpal Raizada, Sundar Singh and Vinay Kumar were suspended from the Assembly on 26 February on charges of molesting Governor Bandaru Dattatreya.

A motion by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Bhardwaj to repeal his suspension was unanimously passed in the House.

The suspension of five MPs was revoked just one day before the presentation of the state budget for 2021-22 on Saturday.
