SSLC, plus two exam postponed

The SSLC and Plus Two Higher Secondary and Professional Higher examinations have been postponed till 8 April.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Teka Ram Meena said in a statement on Thursday, the Election Commission of India (ECI) had given permission to conduct the examinations again. The examinations will now be held from 8 to 30 April. The timetable is expected to be published soon.

Uncertainty between students and parents over the conduct of examinations to be held from 17 to 30 March, not to mention teachers and teachers.

The request of the state government to postpone the examinations was first forwarded to the ECI with the recommendation of the Chief Election Officer. The Commission had sought some clarification on the request, including new examination dates.

The clarification provided by the state government was forwarded to the commission by the Chief Electoral Officer, requesting an early decision on the matter. Mr Meena said that after consideration, the ECI gave its approval to postpone the examinations.

In just under a week to go for the examinations, officials of the Education Department claimed that they had been scheduled from March 17, if needed.

The government had requested to postpone the examinations after the increase in the number of polling stations and teaching and non-teaching deployed for polling duty.

For example, in the Prachar Bhavan, everyone except the secretary was sent for election duty. Many DEOs and chiefs and deputy chiefs also did election duty as the in-charge of examinations.

Two or three rounds of election training for him will collide with exam dates. In addition, most of the polling stations were in schools and the training process would also be conducted in schools.

The government also believed that since the polling day was very close on the last day of the examination, any possible dissemination in COVID-19 would affect the conduct of the voting. Other board examinations were also being conducted in April-May.
