South Africa allowed IPL-bound players to leave Pakistan ODI series midway: report

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has decided to allow its IPL-based players, who are also part of the Proteas team for the Pakistan series, to leave for India after the second ODI on 4 April. Pakistan will play three ICC World Cup Super League matches from 10–16 April from 2–7 and four T20Is but South African cricketers featuring in the IPL will leave for India after the second game. Several South African players – Kagiso Rabada and Enrique Narje (both Delhi Capitals) hard hitter David Miller (Rajasthan Royals), fast bowler Lungi Ngidi (Chennai Super Kings), and wicketkeeper batsman Quinton de Kock (Mumbai Indians) – before IPL 2021 The respective franchisees are expected to join.

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, IPL teams are investigating to arrange for chartered flights so that players do not miss the opening fixtures.

According to the BCCI’s SOPs for IPL 2021, all players (except those from the India-England series), support staff and management entering the bubble have to undergo a seven-day quarantine period in their hotel rooms.

Last month, New Zealand Cricket (NZC) said that it would provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to its players for the upcoming IPL edition.

Along with awarding NOCs, it has also been confirmed that the Kiwi T20 will be available for the full version of the tournament.

New Zealand Cricket spokesman Richard Bock confirmed to ANI via email that the board was awarding the NOC and the players would be available for the entire edition of the IPL.

IPL 2021 will start with RCB on 9 April this year and will face each other in the Mumbai Indians tournament.
