India’s women’s team opener Shaifali Verma once again topped the ICC Women’s T20I rankings for batsmen with impressive performances against South African women in the first two T20 Internationals (T20). Verma scored 23 and 47 in two matches and climbed the ranking chart above Australia’s Beth Mooney to top it for the second time in his career. “India opener Shafali Verma topped the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings after a terrific performance in the first two matches of the ongoing three-match series against South Africa in Lucknow,” the ICC said in a statement.
Shefali had previously achieved top rankings when she played a key role in helping India reach the final of the Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia last year.
While she did not fire in the first T20I, scoring 23 off 22 balls, she was back to her explosive best in the second match. The youngster scored 47 off 31 balls, with six fours and two sixes.
South Africa’s Liezel Lee and Laura Wolvert also climbed the charts after impressive performances in the series.

Lee moved up three places to 11th after his match-winning 45-ball 70.
For India, Deepti Sharma has moved up from 40th and Kishore Richa Ghosh to 59th position among batsmen at 85th position, while young all-rounder Harleen Deol has progressed in both the lists, 262nd among batsmen and 76th. Ranked 146th. Among the bowlers.
