Argentine striker Sergio Aguero said on Monday that he was “proud” of his time in Manchester City when he announced the termination of the contract. Aguero entered the city from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has since scored 257 goals in 384 games, making him his record goalscorer. He aimed for a dramatic win as he included local rivals Manchester United in the 2012 Premier League. “When a cycle ends, many sensations arise,” he posted on social media. “To play with Manchester City for the entire ten seasons remains a great sense of satisfaction and pride for me – unusual for a professional player in this day and age.
“I would like to continue this to win the rest of the season and bring more joy to the fans,” he said.
In a club statement, City chairman Khloon Al Mubarak said he would give a farewell speech until Aguero left, but revealed the striker’s statue to be installed.
Al Mubarak said, “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be eliminated.”
“It’s not yet for the farewell words and speeches. There is still a lot to be gained,” he said in his first Champions League and Hot Feverite race to win the Premier League with City.
“In the meantime, I am very happy to inform that we will appoint an artist to sculpt Sergio to live in the Etihad Stadium,” he said.
The newspaper Manchester Evening News said that City were planning a farewell party after their final game of the Premier League season on 23 May against Everton.
The 32-year-old Kovid-19 was devastated due to injury earlier in a season in January and has played 14 matches for City, scoring three times.
Aguero missed the end of last season and the start of the current campaign after undergoing knee surgery in June.

He then underwent another layoff after suffering a hamstring injury in October.
City coach Pep Guardiola said he would not be able to give Sergio Aguero much time on the pitch before his contract expired last week.
