Seahawks season-ticket holders drop Russell Wilson from letter

Seahawks season-ticket holders drop Russell Wilson from letter

Mission: Entry is complete.

As is the custom for NFL teams, the Seahawks sent season-ticket holders a letter earlier in the week running down from the first season and why they should leave hard-earned money next season. This year’s rendition, however, offers a curious vision: There is no mention of franchise passer Russell Wilson anywhere near or around the letter.

The letter was shared on Twitter:

More: NFL free agency – Can the Hawks grab the O-line upgrade?

This may be a very poor inspection. Its letter of completeness only mentions the names of two players – wide receiver DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett – so perhaps Wilson’s name was not included in the list.

But the letter mentions franchise-record 459 points made this year, so perhaps it would be appropriate to include one of the main reasons for that development, right? Especially when you are trying to sell season tickets and want to include the star attraction.

So, observe? Probably not.

There is reportedly a rift between Seattle’s franchise passerby and the organization, with many issues proving divisive. Wilson is reportedly angered by the firing of offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and the way the team failed to build a top-tier offense line. The Seahawks are believed to be publicly airing their complaints to Wilson, possibly leading to the lapse.

The latest bit of drama only adds fuel to the Wilson trade rumors, although it is unlikely the star will be dealt with before the start of the 2021 season.

It may have been a bit domesticated from the ‘haks’, but fire seems to be growing in this lineage.
