NEW DELHI: Consumer electronics giant Samsung has scheduled its next Galaxy Unpacked event for August 11. Various online leaks and rumours suggest that the company will launch the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 along with new smartwatches and true wireless earbuds.
Now, Samsung mobile president T M Roh has revealed some details about the upcoming launch event. In the official blog post, Roh promised that the new foldable Samsung smartphones will offer better screen durability and Stylus support. He also confirmed that Samsung will not launch a new Galaxy Note smartphone this year.
This means that the upcoming foldable smartphone will come with S Pen support. Rumours also suggest that the company is working on a new and improved S Pen for the devices. The upcoming S Pen is said to be backed by a 100mAh battery and it will be charged via USB Type C. It is also expected that the company will sell the S Pen separately and you will have to shell out more money if you want to purchase one.
Roh said, “We will unleash our latest and greatest Galaxy Z series to reshape the smartphone category and completely reimagine your experiences.”
Roh also mentioned that Samsung is closely working with Google to enrich the foldable ecosystems with popular apps and services. “For our third generation of Galaxy Z phones, we have lined up even more partner apps that make the most of the versatile fold-out format. From hands-free optimized video calling with Google Duo and watching videos in Flex mode on YouTube to multitasking in Microsoft Teams, our foldable ecosystem will offer a wealth of seamless and optimised experiences,” he said.
Talking about Samsung’s recent collaboration with Google to develop the new unified wearable platform, Dr Roh said, the One UI Watch user interface is deeply integrated with other Galaxy devices and provides constant connectivity between the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy smartphone.
