RRB to participate in bank strike

With the United Forum of RRB Unions (UFRRBU), an umbrella organization of eight top-tier unions of regional rural banks, calling for a strike on March 15 and 16, RRB’s banking services are likely to be affected on the said dates.

The strike has been called to oppose the move for privatization of public sector banks and the 11th bipartisan settlement of pay revision of officers in the RRB and full implementation of the eighth joint note.

In a press release issued on Saturday, General Secretary of All India Gramin Bank Employees Association GG Gandhi said that the UFRRBU had asked members to participate in the strike as the government’s policy of privatizing public sector banks for the benefit of the common people. Was harmful

He said in the release that the terms of the award of the National Industrial Tribunal were upheld by the Supreme Court and RRB employees were entitled to full bi-partisan wage revision settlement. Although the 11th bipartite settlement was finalized in November 2020, it was not implemented even after four months had passed.

He said that on March 15 and 16, members of the RRB unions will stage a sit-in in front of all the regional offices and district headquarters.
