Japanese swimmer star Rikko Iki will enter four events at next month’s national championship, the report said on Wednesday, as she makes a spot for the Tokyo Olympics in her return from leukemia. The 20-year-old, who was diagnosed with leukemia in February 2019, will compete in the women’s 50m and 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly and non-Olympic 50m butterfly for 3-10 nationals in Tokyo. The event doubles as a qualifier for this summer’s Coronavirus-delayed Tokyo Games. But Iki, named MVP of the 2018 Asian Games after claiming six gold and two silvers, is yet to look forward as she prepares to meet at the Tokyo Aquatics Center.
“My goal is to reach the finals of every competition that enters the national championships,” Ike was quoted as saying in the Japanese media.
“How well I depend on how confident I am every day in training, so I really want to get down to work and work hard for it.”

Aki won the 50-meter butterfly at the Tokyo Open last month after claiming his first win.
His first race was in August after leukemia was diagnosed.
