When Ramachandran was a very common name in the AIADMK – it included MG Ramachandran and Parruti Ramachandran – KKSR Ramachandran (now with DMK) was identified as his initials or ‘Sattar‘(Man of Sattu) after his then constituency. Often many wondered what the beginners stood for. Sri Ramachandran states that it was a combination of the names of his birthplace, Kapalapuram, followed by the ancestors Kandasamy Radiyar, Subba Radiyar, Subba Radiyar and his father Renganathan Radiyar.
