Senior Congress member KR Ramesh Kumar on Friday urged Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa to distance himself from the “band set” of loyalists and family politics to provide a clean and effective administration to the people of the state.

Speaking on the state budget proposals, Mr. Kumar said that “there was a” band set “of people when Siddaramaiah was the chief minister and now they are around you [Mr. Yediyurappa] And these people lose sight of the leader and also become deaf ”.

The former assembly speaker said that many leaders had lost their jobs due to “band sets” around them and warned the chief minister to be careful about the people around him.

Mr. Kumar said that he had nothing personal against Mr. Yeddyurappa, who was known for his straight talk and petty temperament, but the work culture of the Chief Minister impressed people with his times.

Accusing the government of laxity in implementing the Karnataka Private Medical Establishment Act, which was framed in 2017 as the Minister of Health and Family Welfare in the Siddaramaiah government, the former chairman said that the government should repeal the act if it is ineffective .

He said the government should have used the provisions of the Act when private hospitals refused to admit patients or handed over the bodies of deceased patients for non-payment of dues during the peak days of the COVID-19 epidemic. Had given.

4-speed bump in 50 km stretch

Mr. Kumar said on Friday that the road developed under the Karnataka State Highway Improvement Project (KSHIP), a 50-km stretch between Hoskote and Chintamani, had 47 speed bumps.

He questioned the rationale behind putting 47 speed bump on the road and appealed to the Public Works Department to seriously consider the issue.
