Pattali Makkal Katchi has decided to contest elections alone if the demand for 3 seats was not accepted by the National Democratic Alliance in the Union Territory.
Convenor of PMK Puducherry unit. Dhanraj told reporters here on Saturday that his party was denied seats for the assembly elections in the union territory, though it was a constituent of the NDA.
He said, “We have informed the BJP leadership about our neglect. We have demanded at least three seats. If our demands are not met then we will contest the elections alone.
BJP in-charge Nirmal Kumar Surana and former minister A.K. Namassivam held talks with Mr. Dhanraj on Saturday. Sources said that there was no breakthrough in discussions with PMK.
