Marco Veretti will miss Paris Saint-Germain Champions League first leg against Bayern Munich next week when the French champions announced on Friday that they had tested positive for the Kovid-19. PSG said in a statement, “After the latest PCR Sars-Cov2 test, Marco Verretti has been confirmed positive. He will be isolated and subject to appropriate health protocols.” 28-year-old Italy midfielder Veretti will also miss PSG’s top-of-the-table clash with Lille on Saturday, with the teams finishing first and second and closing on 63 points.

This is the second time this year that Veretti has contracted Kovid-19. He missed two Lynch 1 matches between late January and early February due to positive virus testing.

His absence will make the task more difficult for PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino as he too will be without Viretti’s midfield partner Leandro Parrides.

Bayern will be without star striker Robert Lewandowski for Wednesday’s match at the Allion Arena after suffering a knee injury at the international level for nearly a month.
