Politics is today elected as Tadipatri Chairperson

The politics surrounding the election of the President of Tadipatri Municipality is taking new turns with each passing day since the election results were announced.

On Wednesday, Srinivasulu, a lawyer, asked Tadipatri Municipal Commissioner P.K. A complaint was lodged with Narasimha Prasad, alleging that YSRCP candidate Raghavendra Prasad, who won from the 36th ward, has three children, but he hid the fact.

The Municipal Commissioner, however, dismissed the allegation that the fact was not contested or objected to by the petitioner at the time of filing the nomination. “The Returning Officer has submitted a report that this fact was not brought to the notice of anyone and no one has raised any objection. Therefore, counsel’s demand to stop Mr. Raghavendra Prasad from participating in the election of counsel has been denied, ”Mr. Narasimha Prasad told Hindu.

However, the aggrieved party may knock the door of a court of law to contest the election of a ward member, seeking disqualification on the grounds of this.

No poaching: Botha

Meanwhile, Minister Botha Satyanarayana has said that YSRCP will never try to influence the election of the Speaker.

“As of now, we do not have the required number of councilors to elect our candidate as chairperson. However, we will never hunt.

However, he quipped, “is an independent member and will exercise his vote independently, thus cannot be associated with the TDP camp.”

All newly elected TDP ward members, who were camping in a resort, will reach Tadipatri by night as the election of the president is scheduled to take place at 11 am on Thursday. TDP has won 18 seats, while its coalition partner CPI has won one seat, an independent candidate has lent his support to TDP. The YSRCP has won 16 seats and has two ex-officio members – Tadipatri MLA Kathireddy Pedareddy and Anantapur MP Talari Rangaiya.

HC rejects MLC’s petition
