The mortgage lender says that his banking unit was given a loan of 503 7503 crores.
Mortgage lender HDFC Ltd said on Saturday that the company’s personal loan business continued to show improvement in the January-March quarter and its banking subsidiary was given loans of ₹ 7503 crore.
The personal loan business witnessed strong improvement during the quarter ended 31 March.
Buy-back option
HDFC said that during this quarter, as per the option of horse-trading under a home-loan arrangement between the corporation and HDFC Bank, the corporation gave an amount of ₹ 7,503 crore to the bank. In the year-ago quarter, such loans entrusted to HDFC Bank were ₹ 5,479 crore. The amount of personal loans sold in the last 12 months (April-March) was ₹ 18,980 crore (previous year, 24,127 crore), the corporation said in the filing.
Further, the corporation’s gross income from dividends for the March quarter was ₹ 110 crore as compared to ₹ 2 crore in the year-ago quarter. There were no sales of investments in subsidiaries / affiliates during January-March, as in the year-ago period.
