Parliament proceedings | Create South Coastal Railway zone with Visakhapatnam as headquarters, MP Lavu urges center

Narasaraopet MP Lavu Srikrishnadevarayulu urged Railway Minister Piyush Goyal to make the commitment made in the AP Reorganization Act with Visakhapatnam to South Coastal Railway Zone, while retaining the valet division providing freight service for AP. Complete the

Shri Srikrishnadevaraya Lalu spoke in the Parliament of the Railway Ministry – highlighting several key issues related to the demand for grants and AP.

Speaking on Kisan Rail, Sri Srikrishnadevarayulu said that although this initiative is spectacular, there is a need to include spices in the services provided in Kisan Rail. The Guntur district is a major producer of chilli and turmeric but since farmers do not put spices on the railways, the service is limited to horticulture and pulses only.

Mentioning about the Nadikudi – Srikalahasti line, the MP pointed out that although work has been going on for several years, there is a need to expedite the construction of the railway line which will give a lot of inspiration for the development in the highlands of AP.

The MP also talked about the Gadwal and Macherla line that connects Telangana and Andhra. He said that this is not a huge distance and 15 years were planned but it has not been implemented.

Shri Srikrishnadevarayulu also urged the Union Minister to upgrade the Narasaraopet station to the standards of the district headquarters.

He also appealed to the Union Minister to upgrade the stations at Secunderabad – Guntur Line, Satenpally, Piduguralla, Nadikudi and Tirupati.

The MP also said that the budgetary capital expenditure for 2021-22 is higher than the budget estimate for 2020-21. Construction of new lines by -40% in 2020-21, gauge change from -33%, -26%, doubling of lines -26%, wagons by -17% and track renewals by -20%, lowering the physical targets of the track Has been done.

“ This happened when trains were not running during Kovid-19. If there was an allocation of capital expenditure, we would have created millions of jobs. I want to know from the ministry what is being done to effectively spend the capital expenditure budget of Rs 25 lakh crore in 2021-22, ” said the MP.
