Own a Panasonic TV? This update just added a swathe of extra things to watch

Panasonic TV owners can now access the Apple TV+ service without the need to hook-up an extra device such as the Apple TV box. This week a dedicated Apple TV+ app for Panasonic TVs became available to download, for models from 2017 onwards. You will be able to download the Apple TV+ app for your Panasonic telly as long as it supports the My Home Screen operating system.

To download the app, you’ll need to head to the Application View screen – while for some models it will appear on the Home Screen.

As What Hi-Fi reported, the Panasonic TVs that now have Apple TV+ support include sets which have the EZ, EX, FZ, FX, GZ, GX, HZ, HX, JZ, and JX prefixes.

Standout models to note that now have Apple TV+ support include the TX-55JZ1500B, a 55inch 4K OLED TV, and the TX-58GX800B – a 4K LED TV.

Apple TV+ first launched two years ago, but in that short space of time has already built up a library of unmissable exclusive shows – such as Ted Lasso and The Morning Show.

The streaming service also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which plenty of Panasonic TVs are built for as well.

The release of the Apple TV+ app comes after a dedicated Disney Plus app also launched for Panasonic TVs in September.

If you’re curious about what Apple TV+ has to offer, then you can sign up for a seven-day free trial right now – after which you’ll be charged £4.99 per month.

This price point is less than its rivals – with Disney Plus costing £7.99 per month, Netflix priced at £5.99 for the basic plan and £9.99 for the standard, while Prime Video is included as part of an Amazon Prime membership which costs £7.99 per month.

Alternatively, if you’ve upgraded to a new iPhone recently then you may also have access to Apple TV+ without even realising it – as three month trials are bundled with new devices.
