Brooklyn’s “Big Three” has been more than a “pick two” in the 2020-21 season.
Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving have played in only seven games together since Harden joined the Nets in January. Just when it looked like the Stars would eventually return to the court with Durant for Brooklyn, Harden went down with an injury, preventing coach Steve Nash from doing his best lineup.

The Nets certainly aren’t struggling, as they topped the game against the Pelicans (7:30 PM ET, ESPN) on Wednesday for the best record in the Eastern Conference (35-16). Still, Brooklyn wants to build some chemistry with just 21 games before the start of the 2021 NBA playoffs.

Will Kevin Durant vs Pelicans play?
Durant was upgraded Available to potential On Wednesday, the two-time NBA Finals MVP to set the stage for the first time since mid-February. Durant missed the Nets’ last 23 matches with a hamstring injury.
“In the last month or so, it’s just been working for me, playing here and with my teammates,” Durant said in a video posted to the Nets’ Twitter account. “Mainly just doing workouts, just trying to be prepared, maintaining my stamina and sharpening my skills so that I can be able to transition easily.
“Before I go and jump into NBA games, it’s good to get some of those seasons. It’s too long for me. I’m excited to be back there.”
In 19 games this season, Durant has averaged 29.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. He missed the entirety of the previous season as he recovered from Achilles’ injury.
Will the Pelicans play James Harden?
Harden left the Monday night game against the Knights called the Nets “Right hamstring tightness.” The team announced on Tuesday that an MRI revealed a right hamstring strain and Hardik would miss at least 10 days.

Since being traded from Houston to Brooklyn, Harden has emerged as the MVP candidate, averaging 25.4 points, 11.0 assists and 8.7 rebounds per game with the Nets.
