Seven Keralites have been named by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) as suspected to be involved in waging jihad for the designated organization ISIS.
Besides the three people, Mohammad Amin of Malappuram, Mushab Anuvar of Kannur and Raheed Rashid of Kollam, who were arrested on the second day, the agency listed Ershad Thekeke Kolath of Kasaragod, Shifa Haris and Miza Cydek of Kannur, and Rahul Manoharan. is. Abdullah of Anchal in the list of suspects.
The agency said it was after receiving credible information on the formation of a module by the central government to radicalize individuals that a case was registered against them. The module was devoted to the terrorist organization ISIS led by Amin.
The NIA was asked to investigate the matter as the Center was of the view that in view of the seriousness of the information received by the agency, the offenses prescribed under the National Investigation Act, 2008 could be made against the accused.
Nine searches in Kerala, two in Karnataka and 15 March in New Delhi carried out searches on 12 suspects’ premises, with the NIA saying it seized 16 mobile phones, 17 SIM cards, 10 memory cards, eight pen drives, two hard dics. The agency had obtained a transfer warrant from the NIA Court, Kochi, on the second day to produce Musharsh Anwar and Raheed Rashid before the NIA Special Court, New Delhi. It also obtained permission to hand over the convicts during transit to New Delhi.
