NFL free agency is fast and furious again in 2021. In the first week, most of the major signatures in the league were signed and re-signed. But there are still many players available who are able to contribute well to a team.
For some of these remaining unrestricted free agents, the landing spot will have to wait too long for next season. For many, they will see their time in the NFL – because of age, injuries or other reasons – come to an uncertain end in the open market.
Many here are looking for the best in search of jobs including veterans with best names.
NFL Free Agency 2021: Tracking the Top 50 Signs, Best by All Status
NFL free agent 2021: best player still available in every situation
Quarterback
- Alex Smith, Washington
- AJ McCarron, Texas
- Chase Daniel, Lions
- Colt McCoy, Giants
- Matt Barclay, Biles
- Ryan Griffin, Buccaneers
- Blaine Gabbert, Buccaneers
- Nate Sudfeld, Eagles
- Sean manian, vikings
The viable backup market quickly dried up with notable names such as Mitchell Trubisky (Biles), Tyrod Taylor (Texas), Jacoby Brissett (Dolphins) and Joe Flook (Eagles), who have No. 2 jobs. Smith had started for Washington, but he would also be valuable as a veteran No. 2.
Running back
- Leonard Fournette, Buccaneers
- James Conner, Steelers
- Todd Gurley, Falcons
- Matt Breida, Dolphin
- Duke Johnson, Texas
- Brian Hill, Falcons
- TJ Yeldon, Biles
- Chris Thompson, Jaguar
- Dion Lewis, Giants
- Rex Burkhead, Patriots
- Adrian Peterson, Lions
- Le’Von Bell, Chiefs
- Wayne Gallman, Giants
- Corey Clement, Eagles
- Zerik Mackinnon, 49ers
The Buccaneers and Steelers look as if they are running back in the draft. Fournette has gained more interest from Conner. Otherwise, once again sufficient supply is hurting demand.
wide receiver
- Antonio Brown, Buccaneer
- Larry FitzGerald, Cardinals
- Sammy Watkins, Chiefs
- DeMarcus Robinson, Head
- Danny Amendola, Lions
- Adam Humphries, Titans
- Willie Snade, Ravens
- Golden Tate, heavyweight
- Damire Bird, Patriot
- Marquis Lee, Patriots
- Cordelrell Patterson, Bear
- Dez Bryant, Ravens
- Tavon Austin, Packers
- Dead Westbrook, Jaguar
- Alshon Jeffrey, Eagles
- Trent Taylor, 49ers
- Mohammed Sanu, Lions
- Marvin Hall, Brown
- Marquis Goodwin, 49ers
Brown is still a good bet to return to the box at the right price. Watkins is likely as a complementary wide land somewhere. Then there are a bunch of underground, limited slot options, and faded giants like Bryant and Jeffery.
Tight ends
- Tyler Eifert, Jaguar
- Virgil Green, Chargers
- Demetrius Harris, Bear
- Mycol Pruitt, Titans
- Richard Rodgers, Eagles
- Seth Devalve, Cardinals
- Jordan Reid, 49ers
- Luke Wilson, Seahawks
- Nick O’Leary, Raiders
- Jeremy Sprinkle, Washington
- Ricky Seals-Jones, Chiefs
Eifert was a surprise pass by the Jeffers, who needs to think more about that position as a major target for Lawrence. There is not much to see here except for the aging travelers.
Behaves aggressively
- MItchell Schwartz, Chiefs
- Eric Fisher, Chiefs
- Russell Okung, Panthers
- Alejandro Villanueva, Steelers
- Cameron Fleming, Giants
- Dennis Kelly, Titans
- Bobby macy, bear
- Jason Peters, Eagles
- Demar Dostan, Broncos
- Jared Welder, Packers
- Sam Young, Raiders
- Bobby hart, bengals
- Le’Raven Clarke, Colts
- Cedric Obaguhi, Seahawks
- Julie Ann Davenport, Dolphin
- Marshall Newhouse, Titans
Schwartz’s chiefs have more appeal than the earlier initial pairing, but there are concerns with both age and injury. Okung and Villanueva are the only real left-side plug-and-play options with their experience. The rest are mostly swing tack for depth.
The guard
- Lane Taylor, Packers
- James Carpenter, Falcons
- Try Turner, Chargers
- JR Sweezy, Cardinals
- DJ Fukrey, Ravens
- Brian Winters, Biles
- Jermaine Alumenore, Patriots
- Kelichi Ossemale, Chiefs
- Forest lamp, charger
- Tom Compton, 49ers
- Stephen Wisniewski, Chiefs
- James Ferrantz, Patriots
The Packers did not keep Corey Linsley inside and look fine with Taylor as Elton Jenkins and Lucas Patrick as their best option. Turner and Fluker could still be an early start if a team needs them. As injuries occur, some of these people will be signed for pure depth.
The centers
- Austin Reiter, Chiefs
- Brett Jones, Vikings
- Ben Garland, 49ers
- Joe Loney, Cowboys
Reuters has a good chance of returning for the Chiefs. Jones and Lunney may start somewhere in the end.
Defensive behavior
- Tyron Crawford, Cowboys
- Jurrell Casey, Broncos
- Geno Atkins, Bengal
- Danny Shelton, Lions
- DaQuan Jones, Titans
- Corey Peters, Cardinals
- Abby Jones, Jaguar
- DeMarcus Walker, Broncos
- Steve McLendon, Bookers
- Christian Covington, Bengal
- Damon Harrison, Packers
Nadamukong Suh, returning to the Budneckers, has made the group mostly former standouts old. After Crawford, it is difficult to see much activity here.
Shore rush
- Melvin Ingram, Chargers
- Jadevan Clown, Titans
- Justin Houston, Colts
- Alden Smith, Cowboys
- Carlos Dunlap, Seahawks
- Adrian Claiborne, Brown
- Ryan Kerrigan, Washington
- Olivier Vernon, Brown
- Everson Griffin, Lions
- Trent Murphy, Biles
- Caylor Fackrell, Giants
- John Simon, Patriots
- Alex Okafe, Chiefs
- Taco Charlton, Head
- Tanh Kopasagan, Chief
Ingram and Clown can still bring it up, but they have suffered from sustainability issues later in their careers. Houston, Smith, and Dunlop should get the most interest, at least, in the form of situational pass ropes. Age is also a big limiting factor here.
Linebacker
- KJ Wright, Seahawks
- Vince Williams, Steelers
- Avery Williamson, Steelers
- Damian Wilson, Chiefs
- Sean lee, cowboy
- D. Vonder Campbell, Cardinals
- Tahir Whitehead, Panthers
- BJ Goodson, Brown
- Alandon Roberts, Dolphins
- Eric Wilson, Vikings
- Bruce Irwin, Seahawks
- Deon Buchanan, Bookers
- Dylan Cole, Texas
- Patrick Onwuasor, Jets
- Josh Banes, Bengals
- Kyle Wilber, Raiders
- Michael Kendrick, Washington
- Neville Hewitt, Jets
Wright, a long-time strong starter who does not lose much in 2020, may have returned to the Seahawks with a big outside offer. The point is that he is leaving at the age of 32 and is suffering from a shoulder injury. There are some decent rotational people at this point and not many.
Cornerback
- Richard Sherman, 49ers
- Quinton Dunbar, Seahawks
- Malcolm Butler, Titans
- Mackensey Alexander, Bengals
- Brian Pool, Jets
- Nickel Robbie-Coleman, Eagles
- Bresaud Bryland, Chiefs
- Steven Nelson, Steelers
- Casey Hayward, Charger
- Geron Conley, Texas
- AJ Bouye, Broncos
- Buster Skreen, Bear
- Josh Norman, Bill
- Jason McCourty, Patriots
- DJ Hayden, Texas
- Daryl Roberts, Lions
Sherman can still return to a familiar scheme, such as Robert Saleh Jets, Gus Bradley’s Raiders or Dan Quinn’s Cowboys. Dunbar had a dismal stance in Seattle after the second coming from Washington. Slot options such as Alexander, Poule, Skrein and Hayden have some appeal for nickel depth. Older people outside will have a tough time.
Security
- Malik Hooker, Colts
- Xavier Woods, Cowboys
- Trey Boston, Panthers
- Bradley McDonald, Jets
- Duron Harmon, Lions
- Daniel Sorenson, Head
- Carl Joseph, Brown
- Anthony Levine, Ravens
- Andrew Sandejo, Brown
- Will Parks, Broncos
- Dj swinger, santa
- Strong Randall, Seahawks
- Sean Davis, Steelers
- Josh Jones, Jaguar
Safety is a slow market as special people like Justin Simmons, Marcus Williams, Marcus Maye and Anthony Harris get their deals, so it’s about the interchangeable giants to get into the right plan. Hooters and Woods make enough plays when healthy to get more consideration.
Kicker
- Zen Gonzalez, Cardinals
- Stefan Gostowski, Titans
- Dan Bailey, Vikings
- Mike Nugent, Cardinals
The Cardinals proceeded with Matt Prater. They are going for smaller options like the Titans and Vikings. The kicking carousel never stops.
Punters
- Jordan Berry, Steelers
- Thomas Morested, Saint
- Chris Jones, Cowboys
There is not much to see here with Morstead and Jones’ expected cuts. Berry has a good chance to compete elsewhere in the camp.
