New Mayor says steps will be taken to provide basic amenities to all people

Mayor Hari Venkat Kumari said that she would focus on the development of the city and providing basic amenities to all citizens.

Addressing the first press conference after being sworn in as mayor here on Friday, she said that to understand the issues in the city, she would organize a ‘Dial Your Mayor’ program and would visit all the wards soon. The Mayor promised to develop the wards in collaboration with the GVMC commissioner and officials of various departments.

In response to a question, Ms. Kumari said that she did not expect that she would become the mayor.

He said that all corporators should work together with the party’s affiliation for the development of their wards. She said that she will ensure that all government welfare schemes reach the people without any problems.

Ms. Kumari said that an action plan would be prepared to provide drinking water to all the people of the city. He said that attention would be given to providing facilities such as roads, street lights, improving sanitation and maintaining greenery. He said that steps would be taken to curb pollution in the city. “I will try to speed up the work related to various development projects,” he said.

He thanked Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for giving him the opportunity to serve the people in the city.
