New iPhones, Watch, AirPods and more: What Apple may launch in September – morningtidings

It’s less than a month to go when Apple is expected to unveil the new iPhones. Traditionally, Apple’s September event is held in second week of the month and things seem to be on track this year as well, even though Apple hasn’t announced a date. As we get closer to the event, a swarm of rumours and leaks start to emerge. One of the more reliable sources of Apple-related information has been Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who has now detailed what all Apple may launch at its September event.

iPhone 13 series: Better battery, display

The showstopper of the event will be the iPhone 13 series. According to Gurman, this would be a “classic Apple S model”. The S model means not too many significant upgrades. iPhone 13 series is expected to boast new display features, better battery performance and upgrades to the camera. The design is expected to be pretty much same as the iPhone 12 series.

Watch Series 7: Tweaked design, new processor

The Watch for the last many years has been a staple with the iPhones at Apple’s September event. This year is supposed to be no different and Gurman says that the Watch Series 7 will get a “bit of a redesign.” It has been suggested that the upcoming Apple Watch will get a flatter design. In terms of features, little is known but a new processor will certainly be found in the Watch Series 7.

AirPods 3: New design for the TWS earbuds

For a while now, it has been speculated that the AirPods 3 will launch alongside iPhones. Gurman reiterates those speculations and says the AirPods 3 could launch in September. The AirPods 3 will have a new design — more like the AirPods Pro — but aren’t expected to carry features like active noise cancellation or transparency mode.

iPad: Two new models expected

Apple has thrown in the iPad at the September sometimes and Gurman believes that this year it will be the same. The two new iPads expected are: iPad mini 6 and iPad (9th generation).
The iPad mini, as per Gurman, “destined to be an Apple fan favourite with its thinner borders and a complete redesign.” The iPad mini hasn’t seen a redesign in many years so it will be interesting to see what Apple does with it. Gurman also said in his weekly newsletter that “There’s also a slimmer and faster ninth-generation iPad coming for students.” This will be the entry-level iPad that Apple refreshes every year.
