BJP state president L. contesting from Dharapuram (reserved) constituency. Murugan filed his nomination after attending the roadshow on Thursday.
Police sources said a one-km-long road show was organized from the BJP office near the bus terminus to the Dharampur sub-district office, which saw participation of over 5,000 people.
Later speaking to reporters, Mr. Murugan insisted that the AIADMK-BJP alliance’s victory in the upcoming election has been confirmed and the parties are only working to ensure this.
AMMK candidate a. Vishalakshi and current MLA. Gunasekaran also filed his nomination for Tiruppur South constituency at the Tiruppur Corporation headquarters on Mangalam Road.
Tiruppur district filed 80 nominations in eight of its constituencies on Thursday alone. Palladam constituency recorded the highest number of nominations (19), followed by Kangayam (17). According to election officials, a total of 177 nominations have been filed so far.
