Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was seen playing volleyball to beat the heat on Saturday. The five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champion took to Instagram to share some pictures of his captain trying his hand at volleyball. The defending champions are in Chennai, where they will make their IPL 2021 campaign debut against Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore on 9 April. Soon after, Mumbai Indians posted the image, creating a buzz on social media. By the time of writing, the post had already received over 3 million likes on Instagram.

Rohit joined the rest of the Mumbai Indians team on Monday after a successful ODI series against England.

Mumbai Indians were flawless last season as they won the IPL Trophy for a record fifth time in the United Arab Emirates.

The Mumbai franchise will be hoping for a repeat of last year and become the first team to win the IPL title for the third consecutive year.

Mumbai Indians retained their main set of players for the upcoming season of the T20 tournament by including seven players in the player auction earlier this year.

Mumbai defeated Jimmy Neesham, Adam Milne and Piyush Chawla and also bought Nathan Kulpeter Nile, who played for them last year.

The defending champion also invested in Arjun Tendulkar, son of the great Sachin Tendulkar, by including him on the board during the auction.
