One of the biggest hassles of moving from an iPhone to an Android phone is the fact that you can’t move your WhatsApp messages easily. As per a report by 9to5 Google, Android phones will soon have the capability to easily transfer WhatsApp chats from iOS to Android instantly through Google’s Data Restore Tool. Neither Google nor WhatsApp have talked about this feature yet officially, but the report claimed that the new beta version of the Data Restore Tool app– version 382048734– comes with this feature.
While Android phones will start supporting this feature soon, you may have to wait for WhatsApp to introduce specific chat migration settings. Another report by WABetaInfo claims that WhatsApp is already working on this feature and it may be just about time that it is officially rolled out.
When the chat migration feature from iOS to Android phone is introduced in WhatsApp, users will have to access the feature from the app itself by scanning QR code from inside the Transfer WhatsApp Chats.
WhatsApp recently rolled out multi-device support for beta users. Existing WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business app beta users on both Android and iOS operating systems can opt for it.
This allows WhatsApp users to operate one account via different devices simultaneously and independently. This means that if using the multi-device feature, you’ll be able to use linked companion devices without the need to keep your phone connected. You will be able to use WhatsApp on up to four companion devices at one time.
