Most women miss salary increases due to gender: LinkedIn survey

According to a new LinkedIn report, about 85%, or five out of four working women in India, believe they have missed out on an increase, promotion, or job offer due to their gender.

Per the Opportunity Index 2021 ‘report, this average is 60% for the Asia Pacific region (APAC) region. According to a LinkedIn report, “a deeper analysis shows that more women in India have experienced the impact of gender on career development than in the APAC sector.”

“While 66% of people in India feel that gender equality has improved compared to their parents’ age, working women in India still resist the strongest gender bias in Asia Pacific countries,” it said.

The survey conducted in January saw the participation of more than 10,000 respondents in the APAC region. It covered 2,285 respondents in India.
