Industry Minister MC Sampath recently created a virtual gaff in the Cuddalore constituency seeking votes. The minister, who was listing the government’s welfare schemes, said that the monthly dole of Rs 1,500 for women and door delivery of ration was one of the highlights of the AIADMK government.
When all the basic requirements are met by the government, a situation will arise where women will not have to depend on husbands, she said.
