Microsoft starts rolling out first update to its native Windows 11 apps - Eagles Vine
Microsoft has released yet another build of Windows 11 for Insiders on Beta and Dev channel. The new release carries build number 22000.132 and it includes a host of new fixes. Along with this, the tech giant is also rolling out updates to its first party apps in the Dev channel.
The app update brings the first party Windows apps closer to Windows 11 user-interface and design. The Calculator, Mail app and Snipping Tool now feature a refreshed design and added functionality.
The updated Snipping Tool is most anticipated among the three and brings a new interface design and functionality. According to Microsoft, the new Snipping Tool will replace the existing Snip & Sketch app and classic Snipping tool and brings the best of both worlds in a single app.

The app still supports the Win + Shift + S shortcut command to launch the tool and it also brings a new settings page for Snipping Tool. The keyboard shortcut brings up the snipping tool ribbon menu as before but it now includes several options like Rectangular snip, Freeform snip, Windows snip and Fullscreen snip. The new app also allows users to edit and annotate once the screenshot has been taken. The dark mode is also onboard this time.
The Calculator app has also been updated in terms of design, look and feel. It now features rounded corners. Microsoft says, that the new Calculator app has been rewritten in C#. The new calculator app can now analise equations on a graph, evaluate algebra, trigonometry and complex mathematical equations.

The Mail & Calendar apps has also received a visual upgrade to make it look like a part of Windows 11 operating system. The features and functionality of the app remains the same.

Microsoft has also confirmed that it will eventually be updating all other Windows first party apps to make it fit perfectly with the entire Windows 11 theme and user interface.
