Microsoft Windows 11 first beta release is now available to download for Insider Users on the beta channel.
The beta release comes after almost a month Microsoft released the Dev Preview of the Windows 11 operating system.
The beta channel carries the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22000.100, the same build from dev channel released last week.
It is also important to note that, unlike Dev preview, users will need to have a compatible PC that meets Windows 11 requirements to install Windows 11 beta release on their device. You can click here to know Windows 11 system requirements.
Those who have already installed the Windows 11 Dev Preview on their laptops usually need to perform a clean installation of the operating system.
But, as per a tweet by Windows Insider, users might be able to switch to beta Channel from dev channel with just a click and a restart.
To do this, go to Settings -> Windows Update -> Windows Insider Settings -> Select beta channel and restart your system.
According to the disclaimer on the beta channel, the beta release carries fewer rough edges and is also less buggy compared to the dev release. However, it is recommended to install it on a test machine or on a virtual machine.
Also, Microsoft has already listed a lot of known issues with the build 22000.100 on its official blog post.
Some of them are a flickering issue with the taskbar while switching the input method, navigation issues with links to specific Settings pages are working properly, File Explorer crashing, etc.
