Harshal Patel of Royal Challengers Bangalore took his first five wickets in the Indian Premier League in the bad over of the first innings of IPL 2021 against Mumbai Indians. He also became the first bowler to take five wickets against Mumbai in the IPL. Harshal took three wickets to dismiss Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Marco Johnson in the final over and finished with 5 for 27 in four overs. The right-arm fast bowler helped RCB to lift the Mumbai innings to a good start to the five-time champion after Chris Lynn’s 49-run knock.
Harshal dismissed Ishan Kishan, bowling Hardik Pandya with a full toss after the left-handed batsman was lbw out.
He then dismissed two key finishers from Mumbai in the final over, Krunal and Pollard.
Krunal dismissed Dane Christian for a deep mid-wicket, while Pollard was caught on the next ball as a Caribbean big-hitter in the square leg off Washington Sundar, due to a change in pace from RCB paceman. .
Although he missed taking a hat-trick, Harshal knocked on Marco Johnson stumps for the fifth wicket and belittled Mumbai’s chances of a strong end.
RCB took on Mumbai in the first match of IPL 2021 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
No team will play their home ground as only six places this season – Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Delhi and Ahmedabad have been selected for the tournament.

RCB, which made it to the playoffs last season, will be seen to go even further this time, while Mumbai, who have five trophies in the cabinet, will look to add one more to their kitty.
The playoffs and finals will be played in Ahmedabad.
