MBGP Messi breaks record as PSG star becomes youngest player to reach 25 Champions League goals

Kian Maleppé became the youngest player in Champions League history to score 25 goals in the competition, breaking Lionel Messi’s record.

MBP opened the scoring for PSG against Messi and Barcelona on Wednesday, falling out of the penalty spot in the 31st minute of their last-16 second leg clash.

At the age of 22 and 80 days, Mbappe broke Messi’s record at the age of 22 and 286 days.

Mbappe continues to harass Barca

Mbappé gave PSG a huge lead going into the second leg with a hat-trick in the first leg at Camp Nou – a 4–1 win for the Ligue 1 giants.

With their goal at home on Wednesday, Mbappe set another record in a game, which ended in a 1–1 draw, with PSG taking the lead in the final eight with an overall score of 5–2.

The striker has four goals against Barca in this year’s Champions League, becoming the first player to score multiple goals against the Blaugrana in a single season of the competition.

Big picture

Currently Neymar has been sidelined through injury, with Mbappe becoming the undisputed attacking star of PSG in recent weeks.

Mbappe scored six goals in his last seven Ligue 1 games in addition to his Champions League heroics against Barcelona.

As PSG chased their first Champions League title, they were involved in a tight home run. Mbappé and Co are currently in second place, trailing by two points in the Lib 1 table.
