There are some Thursday nights that are usually marked on the calendar of sports fans each year. The first NFL game of the season, Thanksgiving, NBA trade deadlines, and both NFL and NBA drafts are staples of the sports world, but even they can pale in comparison to the first day of the NCAA tournament.
Of course, March Madness is following a different schedule this year as a result of the COVID-19 epidemic. The FIRST Four games, usually held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, are being held on Thursdays this year, which means that Round 1 of the NCAA tournament will officially close on Fridays this year. This means that starting at 12:15 pm ET and running all day, college basketball fans will be treated to wins or home-to-home basketball for 16 games.
There will definitely be upsets. The bracket will be busted and fan-favorite Cinderellas will emerge. And after March of Madness was canceled in 2020, due to the epidemic, college basketball fans would be happy to see nothing but their favorite players and tournament-winner, which is the biggest playoff in the game.
