The Maharashtra government has allowed gems and jewelery export units to resume operations with a restriction on the number of people working on the premises during night curfew and weekend lockdown.
GJEPC said that it followed the frequent requests made by the Gem and Jewelery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and other trade associations.
Government officials clarified that as long as work is done in shifts, gem and jewelery manufacturing and ancillary activities in the state, emergency measures such as night curfew will be exempted and there will be restrictions on movement of people during weekends.
