In view of the possibility of light rain till March 15, there is a possibility of relief from the heat in many districts.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light rain in several central and northern Kerala districts over the next few days. Due to the possibility of isolated heavy rains, Idukki, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts were on yellow alert on Thursday.
In the summer of this year, the state has received more than its summer rainfall. According to IMD data, from March 1 to March 11, Kerala has received 102% of the normal rainfall for this period.
During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Thursday, Trishala in Palakkad received 7 cm of rain, while Palakkad and Vadakara received 5 cm of rain each. Kanjirapalli, Pirumade, Kollangode and Thalassery each received 4 cm.
