Over 1.29 lakh voters are expected to exercise their right to vote in today’s election in the overall Khammam district and decide the fate of 71 candidates.
Transport Minister Purvada Ajay Kumar was among the first candidates to vote as a vote for the high-level Legislative Council election for the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda graduate constituency in the old undivided Khammam district on March 14 at 8 am.
The minister exercised his voting right at the polling station at SSRJ Arts and Science College in Khammam.
Over 1.29 lakh voters are expected to exercise their right to vote in today’s election in the overall Khammam district and decide the fate of 71 candidates.
Sources said polling started at a brisk pace at polling stations in most urban areas, while agency mandals in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district started on a relatively sluggish note.
The last MLC election held in 2015 recorded a low of 49.91%.
