Gareth Bell clarified his comments on his future before the end of his Tottenham loan deal, insisting that his contract meant he would “legally” have to return to Real Madrid for the first time.
Bell are heading towards the end of a season-loan time at the Spurs, who do not have the option of signing outright Madrid from the end of the season.
The Welshman revealed after making headlines last week that he was planning to return to Santiago Bernabeu, But has now explained that he is yet to make a final decision as to where he will play in 2021-22.

Speaking ahead of Wales’ 2020 World Cup qualifier against the Czech Republic on Tuesday, Bell told reporters: “I think for me, first and foremost I am still in this season, and I have for the Euro. There are still a lot of games.
“Obviously, in the next season, legally my contract says that I have to go back to Real Madrid, which I have said, which I don’t think is abusive to anyone. Legally that is what I have to do.
“Real Madrid is my parent club and as far as I agreed I was on loan with Tottenham until the end of the season and I went back. That is the plan so far.”
