Land Act Amendments on the way: CM

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the process of amending the Kerala Land Assignment Act 1964 is underway.

He said that when the LDF government comes back to power, the process will be completed with the approval of the Law Department

He said that LDF government has taken several steps to resolve land related issues in Idukki

The LDF had said that it would build five lakh new houses under the Jeevan Mission Scheme. However, the UDF was saying that if it comes to power, it would scrap the life mission.

He said that the UDF’s stance for homeless poor people is clear.

Mr. Vijayan said that his government has given 2.5 lakh houses under the Jeevan Mission Scheme. The recently announced recently announced Idukki package of Rs 12,000 crore will be implemented in a time-bound manner.

The government had disbursed pension amount which was not given by the former government, he said, raising the pension amount. 1,600 per month. The government has also decided to increase the pension amount to ₹ 2,500 per month.

The Chief Minister addressed election campaigns in Nedumkandam, Munnar, Cheruthoni and Vandipariyar on Sunday. He was accompanied by Power Minister MM Mani and former Idukki MP Joyce George.
