Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday inaugurated the Khelo India State Center of Excellence (KISCE) to be played at the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council Water Sports Academy. Currently, KISCE will focus on rowing and provide a first-time grant of Rs 145.16 lakh and an annual recurring grant of Rs 96.17 lakh. It is one of the two KISCEs in Jammu and Kashmir, with the Maulana Azad Stadium being the other for fencing in Jammu. A consolidated amount of Rs. 5.08 crore has been sanctioned for both the centers.
Rijiju had earlier announced that the Sports Ministry would open a state-of-the-art water sports facility here. All processes are now in place and funds have been allocated.
Rijiju said, “It is a pleasure to come to Dal Lake to change the lives of the young players here. We have a lot of potential from the Sports Ministry and the Jammu and Kashmir Council and we are trying our best to help the youth here.” Huh.”
The minister said, “Our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a lot of plans for Jammu and Kashmir. This will be a great opportunity for our future champions.”
Rijiju also announced a new competition in the Valley, which includes a Khelo India Women’s Football League. “From this year, we will start the Khelo India Women’s Football League here and all kinds of support will be given by the Sports Ministry.
Rijiju said that in October-November we will organize a marathon competition in Pahalgam.

Currently, 23 states and union territories have 24 KISCEs and each of them focuses on the Olympic Games.
Rijiju was included Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, Advisor to J&K LG and Jammu and Kashmir Secretary Farrukh Khan and Alok Kumar, Secretary, Youth Services for the ceremony at Nehru Park in Dal Lake.
